4over's Annual Blood Drive, 2008

August 18, 2008 — At the third consecutive year, more than 60 4over employees volunteered to donate blood to the Providence Hospital and Blood Donor Center in Burbank, CA.

The Providence Blood Donor Reps. Arrived at 4over's Glendale and Los Angeles facilities at 9 am to set up. There was a blood mobile that we scheduled for the 18th at the 4over Los Angeles facility. The blood donation began at 10 am and lasted until 4 pm in the afternoon. From the 67 volunteer participants, almost 40 pints were collected and taken to the hospital for use. These 40 pints were in fact put to use in the ER and were spent by the very next day, according to Sandy Hibarger, the Director of Development at the Providence Blood Donor Center.

In order to raise awareness in the community and encourage more volunteers to come forward and donate, 4over advertised the event on their websites. Even though there was little response from the public, many of 4over clients responded to the event positively.

Hibarger, was extremely pleased by the positive response from 4over employees. She stated,

“4over always provides a great event with amazing participation and a joyful environment for our staff. We also appreciate their generosity and kindness and look forward to coming back next year. I am sure that many people will also appreciate this generosity when they need blood. We collected a total of 40 pints which will potentially help to save over 100 lives.”
