  • What does the unwind direction of roll labels refer to?
    The unwind direction is the direction in which a label unwinds from a roll.
  • What are the artwork bleed requirements for roll labels?
    For roll labels, the total bleed is 0.125” out from the cut line and total safety is 0.125” inside the cut line. Please ensure that the size of your artwork is the same size as the roll label that you are ordering and that it includes the correct amount of bleed.
  • Can roll labels be written on?
    Yes, roll labels can be written on with a sharpie.
  • Can you put QR codes or barcodes on roll labels?
    Yes, QR codes and barcodes can be put on roll labels. 4over recommends designing QR code and barcode images using 100% K (black) to assure clear quality and to use vector files when uploading artwork.
  • How many labels are there per roll?
    1. The number of labels per roll is dependent on the size, shape, unwind direction, and the quantity. The general rule is…
      1. 1”x1”
        1. 250-2,500 labels = 1 roll
        2. 5,000 labels = 2 rolls
        3. 10,000 labels = 3 rolls
        4. etc.
      2. 1.5”x1.5” - 3”x3”
        1. 250-1,000 labels = 1 roll
        2. 2,500 labels = 2-3 rolls
        3. 5,000 labels = 3-6 rolls
        4. Etc.
      3. 3.5”x3.5” - 6.5”x6.5”
        1. 250-500 labels = 1 roll
        2. 1,000 labels = 2 rolls
        3. 2,500 labels = 3-5 rolls
        4. 5,000 labels = 6-10 rolls
